The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is proud to offer a number of special events for sea turtle enthusiasts of all ages! Whether it’s coming together to Shell-e-brate Earth Day or dressing up for some non-scary Turtleween fun, we have an event you’ll be sure to enjoy.

Teacher Open House
Friday, February 5, 2010 from 5-7pm
We LOVE our teachers! As a thank you to coastal Georgia educators, our education staff invites teachers/administrators and their guest to a FREE night at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center! after-hours visit! Check out what the Center’s education staff has to offer you and your students in this after-hours visit. Educators will be on hand to preview a number of field trip programs, outreach opportunities and Georgia Performance Standard programming at your leisure. FREE Turtles for Tomorrow Scout Event
Saturday, March 6, 2010 from 9am - 1pm
Learn all about turtles at this ’scouts only’ event! Spend a day on beautiful Jekyll Island and join the staff of the Georgia Sea Turtle Center, the Jekyll Island 4-H Center and Tidelands Nature Center to learn how YOU can help ensure that turtles survive for tomorrow. This FREE event is open to boy and girl scouts (recommended ages 8-12), their troops and leaders. Help us our by downloading this flyer to bring to your next scout meeting. Shell-e-brate Earth Day

Join us for the third annual Shell-e-brate Earth Day family festival! This earth shell-e-bration features recycled crafts, earth-tastic activities and eco-entertainment for the whole family! Check out the eco-fun from the 2009 festival! This event is free with general admission to the Center.

Nest Fest

Spring has sprung with a full week of fun activities and a sea turtle release! Held in conjunction with the Turtle Crawl Triathalon right here on Jekyll Island, the Georgia Sea Turtle Center will host sea turtle lectures, kid-friendly movies and after school fun with Scute, the Loggerhead mascot! Patient of the Year
June 1 - June 30, 2010
Get ready to cast your vote for the 2009 sea turtle patient that best represents the Georgia Sea Turtle Center’s mission of rescue, rehabilitation and release! Hosted by the 2009 Patient of the Year, guests can purchase a $1 Pledge Card in our Gift Shop and tell us why their favorite patient should be this year’s winner! The 2008 winner was announced via the GSTC blog- find out who is was!
Sea Turtle Camp
June 7th - July 2nd, 2010
A summer camp program to inspire youth involvement in sea turtle conservation.
The Georgia Sea Turtle Center invites children ages 6 to 12 to join us for the ultimate camp experience as junior conservationists. Starting June 7th, we’re offering 4 week-long sessions of Sea Turtle Camp with fun-in-the-sun activities, sand adventures and unforgettable sea turtles! If you are a teacher in Glynn or a surrounding county, join us for this exclusive after-hours sneak peak at what the Georgia Sea Turtle Center has to offer your students! Turtleween
Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 12-4pm
Come dressed in your sea turtle best as Georgia Sea Turtle Center staff and volunteers invite all turtle enthusiasts to join in some non-scary Turtleween fun! Trick or treat with the sea turtles, cast your line at Friendly Fisherman or concoct a fishy milkshake at Griffin’s medication station. Our 3rd annual Turtleween was a hoot! Event is free with general admission to the Center.
November
Scout Month (all month long)
Come to the Georgia Sea Turtle Center for a special scouting experience anytime during the month of November! Download our Scouts-only Scavenger Hunt, then track your adventure as a sea turtle through our exhibit gallery & visit with real sea turtle patients. Scouts in uniform will receive a FREE participation patch with a completed Scavenger Hunt! Reservations for groups of 10 or more recommended. Interested in more Scouting Programs? Sea-son’s Greetings

Santa visits good girls and boys every year, so why not sea turtles? He’s stopping for a visit along his Christmas migratory route; sit on his lap, tell him your wish, admire his red and white suit! Make a recycled ornament to adorn your Christmas tree, then visit our sea turtle patients to hear their special Christmas story! A magical time was had by all during Sea-sons Greetings 2008!
