Welcome!  We are excited to share with you our GREEN INITIATIVES webpage, a site dedicated to the many efforts to REDUCE, REUSE, and RECYCLE at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center.   As our mission states, we aim to increase awareness of habitat and wildlife conservation challenges, promote responsibility for ecosystem health and empower individuals to act locally, regionally, and globally to protect the environment.  We accomplish this through sea turtle rehabilitation, research and education programs.

Please take some time to explore this site and learn what it means to “be green”, why it’s important, and how YOU can live a greener lifestyle.  We at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center have taken many steps towards maintaining sustainability and urge our friends to do the same.   A eco-conscious knowledge leads to a greener community thus creating a healthier, cleaner world not only for us to live, but for the many animals we share this fragile planet with, allowing them to survive for years to come.

“For in the end, we conserve only what we love, we will love only what we understand, and we will understand only what we are taught.”  – Baba Dioum
