S.T.E.P. 3-part Series
New for 2010-2011!
The Sea Turtle Education Project (STEP)
STEP is a 3-part series specifically designed for 2nd-4th grade students and teachers.
This unique program combines outreach and field trip programs for you and your class to become sea turtle experts! All programs are designed to meet the Georgia Performance Standards for elementary grades. Programs include:
Georgia’s Sea Turtles TM – Students will learn the ins and outs of the five species of sea turtles that visit the Georgia coast. Students will see many different sea turtle shells and skulls while discussing these exciting species.
Amazing Adaptations TM – Did you know that sea turtles live in the ocean their entire lives? How do they do it? Students will learn about the Loggerhead sea turtle, the most common sea turtle species, and its unique adaptations that help it survive in the marine environment.
Garbage in the Water TM - Why does it matter if I litter? I don’t live anywhere near the ocean. How is my trash going to affect sea turtles? Learn the answers to these questions and discover one major threat to sea turtles today in this interactive program.
