Interactive exhibits and daily presentations await guests of all ages at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center! Join a member of our Education staff to learn more about our patients, see and touch real turtle bones or make a turtle-inspired craft. Programs are geared toward turtle enthusiasts of all ages with special children’s programs on Saturdays. These fun and interactive programs are FREE with general admission. Patient Feeding

Hang out with the Center’s most popular attraction-a sea turtle! Learn the story of a recovering sea turtle patient and watch as they enjoy a late morning breakfast. Learn how we simulate natural feeding behaviors in captivity and supplement their daily diets.

 

Meet the Patients

The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is the home of Georgia’s first and only sea turtle hospital. Come meet our patients! This presentation provides basic sea turtle facts as well as each of our patients’ stories. Learn about where each patient came from, why they are here, and how they’re doing.

Education Program

Join a member of the Education staff as they teach one of several turtle-inspired programs! Would you like to learn more about Georgia’s Sea Turtles? Perhaps you’d like to be amazed by sea turtle adaptations. Maybe you’d like to learn more about turtles, tortoises and terrapins. You’re sure to learn something new during one of these interactive programs.

Behind the Scenes Tours

Ever wonder what it feels like to be on the other side of the Treatment Window? Wish YOU could get a closer look at the patients? You’re in luck! The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is pleased to offer Behind-the-Scenes Tours! Guided by a member of our Education staff, guests will visit food preparation areas, animal holding areas, the Treatment Room, Radiology and Surgical Suite.

Today’s menu: Crabs, Squid, and Fish. Which one would a sea turtle choose? Believe it or not, all sea turtles do not eat the same thing! Each species has its favorite! Come see how and what one of our patients eats for dinner!

Children’s Programs

Scute’s Ocean Adventure!

Gather round the puppet theater and join Scute, GSTC mascot and loggerhead sea turtle, for an extraordinary adventure! Follow Scute on his voyage through the ocean and join in on the fun as he meets several interesting characters along the way: Maura the Eel, Leandro the Leatherback and Stan & Sylvia Shark! Suitable for the younger crowd, although it’s a show that’s sure to make all ages laugh!
