Teddy was born and raised in Athens, GA.  His love for the Georgia Coast and its natural beauty was instilled in him from day one by his parents.  Teddy attended the University of Georgia where he received a B.S. in Family and Consumer Sciences with a major in Child and Family Development.  He put this degree to good use by starting his post college career at the Jekyll Island 4-H Center.  There as an environmental educator he gained a better understanding of the Georgia coast and its inhabitants.  Teddy continued his environmental education career at SeaWorld in Orlando.  This experience allowed him to share the excitement of many marine creatures including manatees, orca whales, and of course sea turtles.  However, his passion for the Georgia coast would soon call him back to Jekyll Island as an Education Intern at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center.  After two internships at the Center, he was hired as a full time Educator in May of 2009.  Today you can find Teddy sharing sea turtles with visitors and school groups, heading towards the latest outreach event, and even hanging out with Scute, the GSTC mascot!
