As our hospital technician, Steven is a nurse to our patients…assisting the veterinary/husbandry team in many aspects including radiology, laboratory diagnostics, daily procedures and treatments, surgery prep and monitoring, medical records, research and animal care.

Steven is originally from Brattleboro, Vermont, although he attended college at St. Petersburg College in Florida.  He completed his veterinary technology program and received an A.S degree followed by passing state and national boards to become a licensed/certified veterinary technician (CVT).  More recently, Steven completed his B.S in Hospital Management and Clinical Care.  Steven is considering continuing his education to receive his M.S degree in environmental management one day.

Throughout his education, Steven has taken interest in wildlife and exotic patients over domestic species and was fortunate to take advantage of some unique study abroad and internship opportunities in order to chase his dreams. During his sophomore year of college, Steven studied abroad in Cairns, Australia traveling and taking courses in zoology, doing research and fieldwork both within the rainforest and on the Great Barrier Reef. During his senior year, Steven completed two internships as the wildlife vet tech intern at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Veterinary Services Department in Orlando, FL. During this yearlong internship, Steven learned many valuable aspects of veterinary medicine and wildlife conservation, caring for a variety of captive collection species as well as native wildlife species that were sick, orphaned and injured throughout the parks and resorts.
