Peggy Van Buren moved to Brunswick and The Golden Isles 41 years ago with her husband, Charles. Charles was born and raised here. She lived in Snellville, Ga. For 15 years before transferring back to this beautiful area. Peggy was hired to work in the gift shop 1½ years ago after retiring as a bank manager. Peggy brings 10 years of experience of management skills as a result of that position. She also has 15 years as a management coordinator in retail sales. She has been an office manager for a law firm for 5 years and helped her husband manage his restaurants. She had a catering service and planned a few events here on the Island using the Crane Cottage before it was opened as restaurant. Peggy has 2 children and 5 grandchildren. Needless to say Christmas, birthdays and special occasions bring many gifts from the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. It is a great way to support the center and help our environment. She makes the most of her time off spending it with her family, offering up lots of southern style home cooking. Cooking is her therapy as well as music and spending time on the beach. There is always room at the table for family and friends & even a place to stay if need be.
