Kelly is a graduate of Berry College in Rome, GA where she earned a B.S. in Biology. Following graduation, Kelly worked as a Naturalist, Wildlife Rehabilitator and Assistant Camp Director at the southeast’s largest environmental education facility, the Chattahoochee Nature Center in Roswell, GA. It was there that she found her passion for environmental education and natural science. This passion and talent for teaching led her to accept a Resident Naturalist position at the UGA Ecolodge and Research Station in San Luis Costa Rica. After returning from Costa Rica and completing a 2 year stint as a human tissue dissector, Kelly accepted an Educator position at the GSTC. Sea turtles have always been one of her main interests and she is thrilled to return to the world of teaching, rehabilitation and all things science. Among her education responsibilities at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center, Kelly manages all reservations for school field trips, group tours and public outreach. Kelly also develops and oversees the Center’s annual special events and creates the Caretta Chronicles newsletter.
