Come to the Georgia Sea Turtle Center for a special scouting experience anytime during the month of November! Track your adventure as a sea turtle through our exhibit gallery, visit with real sea turtle patients. Scouts in uniform receive a participation patch at the end of their visit!
When: October 26 (12pm-4pm)
Bring your hatchlings for non-scary, turtle-tastic fun on Sunday, October 26 from 12-4pm. Costume contests, bobbing for jellyfish, make and take fossils, a sea turtle sea-metery and much more await turtle enthusiasts of all ages. We’ll sea you there!

The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is proud to be an exhibitor at the 13th annual CoastFest hosted by Georgia DNR. This is a fun-filled event with over 85 exhibitors (including us!), several exciting programs, and countless activities for any age.

When: October 3-4
The Gopher Tortoise Council and the Georgia Sea Turtle Center are hosting the 2008 Gopher Tortoise Council Annual Meeting on Jekyll Island at the Oceanside Inn and Suites hotel. The business meeting will be held at and catered by the hotel on Thurs October 2 at 7 pm. The special topic is wildlife and ecosystem health which will be held on Friday Oct 3. We have a number of speakers lined up from Georgia and all over the country. There will be a tour of the Georgia Sea Turtle Center that evening followed by a low country boil dinner. Saturday’s lectures will be devoted to primarily gopher tortoise research and management, followed by a barbeque that evening. We will have some great field trips organized for October 5.
