The GSTC Gift Shop has a brand, new very fashionable item in stock; the GSTC – Giving Sea Turtles a Chance bracelet! This turtle-tastic idea was created by Sarah Stock, a Junior at Emma Willard School. Read below to learn how Sarah’s passion for sea turtle conservation led her to develop a fundraising campaign for the GSTC!
“My passion for sea turtles began in the summer of 2007 when I worked part time at the GSTC. It was here where I learned from and worked with some of the most incredible and inspiring people. This sparked my love for sea turtles, and I began to deeply care about their future. I had the most incredible summer experience and had many awe-inspiring moments, like watching hatchlings crawling out of a nest or participating in a necropsy with Dr. Terry Norton! As a young sea turtle enthusiast (I haven’t graduated high school yet), I couldn’t help but wonder if there was something more that I could do! Then I realized that I could fundraise for this amazing center to help them in their mission! Thus, the bracelet campaign was born.”
